A terrible incident occurred in Fontana, California. Fitness influencer Gloria Zamora (40) and her new boyfriend Hector Garduno (43) were shot and killed in a restaurant parking lot by a jealous ex-husband. The incident happened just a few days after Zamora announced her divorce process in a podcast.
Officials from the Fontana Police Department stated that Gloria Zamora and Hector Garduno were shot around 9:40 PM on June 21 in the parking lot of a sushi restaurant. The couple was attacked after staying at the restaurant for about an hour. Police identified Zamora's ex-husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, as the perpetrator of the attack.
A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officer passing by at the time of the incident noticed the situation and immediately intervened. The suspect was shot on the spot and died at the scene.
Gloria Zamora, a mother of 7 children, was a fitness influencer with over 150,000 followers on Instagram. She was known for sharing motivational and fitness content aimed at women. In her own podcast channel, HERizon, she openly discussed her divorce process with her second husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga.
Her 24-year-old daughter Jazlynne Zamora, who lost her mother, said in a GoFundMe campaign, "My mom was taken from us senselessly, murdered by my stepfather Tomas." According to her daughter, Gloria was a beacon of light in her community and always lived by the saying, "Women can achieve anything they want."
Hector Garduno, 43, was a father of 4 children. In a fundraising campaign set up in his name, his children stated that their father was a hardworking and loving person who was taken from them at an early age.

The Fontana Police announced that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. While no further statements have been made, the local community and social media users expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.
