As part of an investigation into a criminal organization in Istanbul, Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and 31 suspects, including Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is alleged to be the leader, have been referred to the court with a request for arrest. It has been reported that Aktaş stated in his testimony to the prosecutor's office, "I come from a family that has been a victim of terrorism in the past. It is not possible for me to take jobs from municipalities associated with terrorism."

In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegation that the criminal organization led by 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş' organized tenders by bribing mayors and senior executives of municipalities, the procedures of 40 suspects are ongoing at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after their health checks at Bayrampaşa State Hospital.

REQUEST FOR ARREST OF 31 SUSPECTS

The prosecutor's office referred 31 suspects, including Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and Aziz İhsan Aktaş, to the duty magistrate court with a request for arrest on various charges after their statements were completed.

AZIZ İHSAN AKTAŞ'S STATEMENT REVEALED

As part of the investigation launched against the criminal organization in Istanbul, the statement of Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was detained on the allegation of being the leader of the organization, has emerged. Aktaş, who is alleged to be the leader of the criminal organization, claimed in his statement that although it is alleged that he is the actual owner of the companies owned by his brothers and relatives, this is not true. Stating that the companies Elif LPG and Provek Pharmaceuticals belong to him, Aktaş mentioned that there are companies named Perla Maritime and Güven Otoyol İşletmeleri, which are partners of Elif LPG, and that the other companies belong to whoever they appear to belong to in the trade registry. Aktaş claimed that he did not know the company named İldeniz Organizasyon and did not know its owner, asserting that he was unaware that the said company had received a tender from Beşiktaş Municipality.

"I HAVE NO ACQUAINTANCE WITH RIZA AKPOLAT"

Aktaş stated that he met Önder Gedik, the Chairman of Beşiktaş Municipality Beltaş Business Operations Industry and Trade Inc., at the land registry office, and that he knows Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat but has no face-to-face meetings or acquaintance with him, and he also claimed that he has no acquaintance with Ahmet Özer, who was removed from the position of Esenyurt Mayor. Suspect Aktaş claimed that he had no knowledge of the tenders made by Esenyurt Municipality, stating, "My brothers' companies may have won tenders from institutions such as İSFALT, İETT, Beşiktaş Municipality, and İGDAŞ, but I do not know the processes. I have received tenders from Beşiktaş Municipality on behalf of Elif LPG. I do not know how many I have received. I have no knowledge regarding the sale of vehicles belonging to Rıza Akpolat's company to my brothers' companies. I do not even know if the vehicle is currently in my company. It is being said that my brothers and I have received numerous tenders from municipalities. There are other families similar to this."

"IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO RECEIVE WORK FROM MUNICIPALITIES ASSOCIATED WITH TERRORISM"

Aktaş, asserting that he did not receive any information about the operation from anyone and that there was no possibility of fleeing, stated, "In my work, I have never been involved in anything illegal, I have not been involved in manipulation, and as a prudent trader and a father of five children, I am doing my job. I do not accept the allegations of being part of a criminal organization. I conduct my business entirely on a legal basis. I come from a family that has also been a victim of terrorism in the past. Therefore, it is not possible for me to receive work from municipalities associated with terrorism. This will be revealed when investigated."

Aktaş requested to be released, denying the accusations.
