In the recent operations targeting celebrities, Cihan Şensözlü, known as Cihanna, stated in his testimony to the prosecutor, "I did not facilitate introducing anyone from the celebrity community I know to another man in any way. I did not encourage anyone to engage in prostitution." Şensözlü also mentioned that drugs may have been used at the parties of Kasım Garipoğlu, that people may have engaged in sexual relations there, and that he knows who attended those parties.
As part of the "drug" and "prostitution" investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 7 people, including writer and influencer Cihan Şensözlü, were detained by the Istanbul Organized Crime Fighting Branch. These 7 individuals were arrested by the court on December 21 at the Istanbul Courthouse located in Çağlayan.
HE WAS ARRESTED FOR PROSTITUTION The statement of Cihan Şensözlü, who was arrested for "encouraging, facilitating, or providing a place for prostitution," has emerged.
"I DID NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO PROSTITUTION" In his statement to the prosecutor, Cihan Şensözlü, one of the arrested individuals, stated, "I did not facilitate introducing anyone from the celebrity community I know to another man for a monetary purpose through gifts, valuable items, or jewelry. I did not encourage anyone to prostitution. I did not facilitate this in any way, nor did I act as an intermediary. I did not do anything that I cannot account for... I have repeatedly stated in my columns that the direction of social media is heading towards a bad situation and that social media encourages young people to misuse it."
HE EXPLAINED WHY HE WAS DETAINED IN QATAR Responding to questions about his detention in Qatar, Şensözlü said, "I did not meet anyone in Dubai who had any kind of arrest warrant. I did not bring any information from these individuals. I did not receive any gifts. The reason for my detention in Qatar three or four weeks ago was definitely not due to prostitution or my clothing. When I was entering a venue for entertainment, four plainclothes police officers approached me and I was taken and released because it was stated that the bag was only to be used by women. Everyone in the community knows businessman Kasım Garipoğlu. He frequently organizes parties. I know who attends these parties. Drugs may have been used at the parties. I do not have direct witnesses. There may have been girls brought to the parties or people who met there and had sex. I would like to share the details of what I remember about the contents of the parties later. Mehmet Ali GÜL is someone who brings foreign friends from abroad and organizes events." he stated.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED? As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror and Organized Crimes Bureau, Yiğit Macit, Eser Gökhan Küçükerol, Mehmet Ali Gül, İsmail Ahmet Akçay, Mehmet Güçlü, and Gizem Türedi were detained by the Organized Crime Fighting Branch for the crimes of "encouraging and facilitating prostitution and drug manufacturing and trafficking." Cihan Şensözlü was also captured and detained by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command and brought to the courthouse.
After the prosecutor's statements, Yiğit Macit, Mehmet Ali Gül, Mehmet Güçlü, and Cihan Şensözlü were arrested and sent to prison for the crime of "encouraging or facilitating prostitution," while İsmail Ahmet Akçay was arrested for "drug trafficking" and "encouraging or facilitating prostitution," and Eser Gökhan was arrested for "facilitating drug use." Gizem Türedi was released under judicial control with a "prohibition on leaving the country."
