Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that Russia struck the capital Kyiv with over 650 drones and more than 30 missiles. It was reported that three people, including one child, lost their lives in the Russian attacks.
The Russia-Ukraine war continues despite four years passing and ongoing ceasefire talks.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated in a social media post that Russia has launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine with more than 650 drones and over 30 missiles since the night, targeting the energy sector and civilian infrastructure.
Noting that three people, including one child, lost their lives in the attacks, Zelensky said, "In the Kiev region, one woman was killed by a Russian drone. It was reported that one person was killed in the Khmelnytskyi region. In the Zhytomyr region, a 4-year-old child lost their life when a Russian drone hit a residence. I extend my condolences to their families and loved ones." Zelensky reported that Russia attacked at least 13 regions, and many drones and missiles were shot down.

Zelensky stated, "This Russian attack sends an extremely clear signal about Russia's priorities. An attack just before Christmas, when people want to be safe at home with their families. An attack occurring in the middle of negotiations aimed at ending this war. Putin still cannot accept that he needs to stop killing. This means the world is not putting enough pressure on Russia. Now is the time to act.
