Subhonkul Rahimov, who survived the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane in Kazakhstan, said he was in shock because he escaped the accident without any injuries. Rahimov, who recorded footage at the scene during and after the plane's descent, shared his experiences with an AA reporter. "WE HEARD A EXPLOSION SOUND DURING THE FLIGHT"48-year-old Rahimov, who was born and raised in Tajikistan, stated that he has lived in Yekaterinburg, Russia for over 20 years and is a Russian citizen. He mentioned that they heard an explosion sound during the flight, but he could not clearly identify where the explosion occurred, saying: "I couldn't see the city of Grozny. I couldn't see which settlement we were over due to the fog." "NOTHING WAS VISIBLE"I was sleeping until that moment. Then I felt the plane rising again. When I opened my eyes, I saw fog. Nothing was visible. The plane couldn't land in one go. I thought we would try to land a second time. I believe all of this was over Grozny. However, I can't say anything definite about it." "I FELT LIKE THE PLANE WAS GOING TO BREAK APART"Rahimov stated that when the explosion sound was heard, the oxygen masks opened, saying, "I felt like the plane was going to break apart. There was turbulence. Then the plane started to rise again. Then the plane leveled out and began to descend slowly. The passengers calmed down. I thought we would land at another airport. I calmed myself down. After a while, I saw the sea. The weather was clear." he expressed. "I READ ALL THE PRAYERS I KNEW"Rahimov, who constantly remembered Allah by praying before and during the flight, said, "I prayed when we started to fly and recited the Shahada. I do this every time I board and disembark from a plane. I always remember Allah. (In times of danger) I read everything I knew. Then I thought that this wouldn't be enough, and it would be better to die in prostration. Death seemed inevitable. By the permission of Allah, I survived." he said. "I WAS IN SHOCK"Rahimov mentioned that he jumped in place several times at the moment the plane crashed and then saw a fire, saying: "The incident happened in a few seconds. Then there was calm. I was in shock because I survived. I didn't even have any fractures or dislocations. That's why I was in shock. Thank God, those sitting next to me and behind me also survived. Other people on the plane also survived besides me. My ticket had seat number 38 written on it. Then I moved to seat 39 by the window. My seat was at the tail of the plane. The tail of the plane broke off. But I didn't understand how that happened." "THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT CALMED PEOPLE UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT"Rahimov expressed his appreciation for the flight attendant, saying, "If she died, may Allah take her to paradise. She always spoke in Azerbaijani Turkish and calmed people down. She did everything according to the rules, talking to the people on the plane until the last moment. In this critical situation, she fulfilled all her responsibilities. I want to emphasize that she was a woman. She was not afraid." he stated. "THEY DIDN'T REALIZE I HAD EXITED THE PLANE"Rahimov, who stated that he did not lose consciousness after the accident, said, "I tried to get out of the plane. We helped each other with the passengers. We unbuckled our seatbelts and tried to find an exit from the plane. I tried to help a woman. I heard the sounds of ambulances. The medical teams arrived. Some didn't even realize I had exited the plane. Because I was wandering around the plane. They were surprised when they learned this." he said. "DON'T BE AFRAID OF DEATH"Rahimov emphasized that first aid arrived at the accident site immediately, thanking Kazakhstan and the medical teams for this. He stated that he has a message for all his Muslim brothers due to what he experienced in the accident, saying, "Don't be afraid of death. You must accept death. There is no need to worry. If a Muslim prays five times a day, if he prays to Allah every day, every Muslim can face situations like the one I encountered. In this situation, he needs to stay calm and accept the situation. His heart will guide him on what to do." he said. Rahimov mentioned that he advised his friends and brothers who called him after the accident to trust in Allah, telling them, "In these situations, Allah will support you too. If you accept the situation, you will calm down. If you are ready to meet Allah, there is no need to be afraid." he conveyed.
