Selami Salman, who has been walking for kilometers every day between Tuzla and Maltepe on the E-5 highway in Istanbul for years and has various rumors about why he walks, was found dead in his house in Pendik. Salman's mother, in an interview she gave a few months ago, stated that her son got engaged to a woman he loved, but the engagement was broken, and afterwards he suffered a head injury and since then he constantly walked on the roads regardless of the weather.
Salami Salman, who has been walking for kilometers every day between Tuzla and Maltepe on the D100 highway, was found dead in his house in Pendik. The body of Salman, who was found dead in his house by the teams, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOUSE
The incident took place in a house on Terzi Street in Kavakpınar neighborhood of Pendik, Istanbul around 21:00. According to the information obtained, Salman, who is seen by many people every day, had been missing in Pendik for about two days. Salman was found dead in his house as a result of search efforts. His relatives informed the police teams. Upon the notification of the situation, many police, crime scene investigation teams, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams who arrived at the scene reported that Salman had passed away. After the work of the crime scene investigation teams, the body of Selami Salman was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy to determine the cause of death. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
THE STORY HAD TOUCHED HEARTS
Medine Salman, the mother who lived in the same apartment building with her son Selami Salman, had stated that Selami Salman was a cheerful person in his younger years and different from his current state. Medine Salman had said that her son got engaged to a woman he loved when he was young, but the engagement lasted for 9 years and was broken off because the girl's side did not want it. She also mentioned that her son had an accident about 10 years ago, fell and injured his head. Medine Salman had expressed that the breaking off of the engagement and the head injury had a negative impact on her son's psychology and health, and after these incidents, her son started walking on the roads constantly.
HE HAD RESPONDED TO THE QUESTION "WHY ARE YOU WALKING?"
While walking on the E-5 highway, Selami Salman also answered the questions of the press members. He had said, "I'm doing two laps. Morning and evening. I leave at 8 in the morning. There's nothing to say. What am I going to say? You're also walking, why are you walking? I don't get tired while walking. I walk until Kartal, then turn back from Tersane Bridge. Then I go home. People are calling Selami, that's me," he said.
"THIS PLACE IS GOOD FOR ME"
When asked why he was walking, Selami Salman had replied, "Wait and see." In his continued speech, Salman had said, "This place is good for me. I don't want anything. They give me water from the cars," he said.
