The strike by Birleşik Metal-İş at four factories has been banned for 60 days on the grounds that it is "of a nature that disrupts national security."

The strike of the United Metal-Workers Union has been postponed for 60 days by the decision published in the Official Gazette by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Erdoğan, it was stated, "It has been decided to postpone the strike decisions taken by the United Metal-Workers Union at the workplaces specified in the attached list for a period of sixty days, as they are considered to disrupt national security, in accordance with Article 63 of the Law on Trade Unions and Collective Labor Agreements No. 6356."

WHAT HAPPENED?

After failing to reach an agreement in the collective bargaining negotiations with the Turkish Metal Industrialists' Union (MESS), the United Metal-Workers Union had gone on strike at the GridSolutions, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric, and Arıtaş Cryogenic factories.
