Our Women's National Volleyball Team defeated France 3-0 in their second match of the second week of the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL) held in Ankara.

THE SULTANS OF THE NET WON WITHOUT LOSING A SET

Turkey started the match with blocks and effective spikes by Vargas, taking a 5-1 lead. After a back-and-forth scoring period between the two teams, France closed the gap to 2 (13-11). In the final stretch, the crescent-stars made fewer errors and won the first set, where Vargas produced 8 points, 25-17.

The second set began with back-and-forth scoring, with the first 14 points tied at 7-7. Gaining control of the game, the crescent-star team extended the lead to 3 thanks to France's service errors and service aces by İlkin Aydın: 13-10. France won 7 of the next 11 points, tying the score at 17-17. France, responding to Vargas's spikes and service points with points from Depie, Elouga, and blocks, took the lead for the first time in the set: 20-21. In the final part, the national team regained momentum with a service run by Elif Şahin, finishing the competitive second set 25-23.

France started the third set with a 5-1 lead, forcing Turkey to call a timeout. After the timeout, the national team produced points with Vargas and Jack-Kısal, closing the gap and taking a 10-9 lead. Following effective attacks by France, service errors allowed the set to be tied at 15-15. After back-and-forth scoring, Turkey increased their effectiveness with Vargas and Jack-Kısal, winning the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.

THE NATIONALS SECURED THEIR FOURTH VICTORY

After the match where Melissa Vargas produced 22 points, the national team earned their 4th victory, while France suffered their 5th loss.
