As the argument escalated, the manager first threw a bottle at Jessica and then pinned her to the ground. During this time, the young woman was unable to breathe and lost consciousness. Other employees who attempted to intervene during the incident were also attacked by the manager.
Although Jessica tried to regain consciousness after a while, she fainted and collapsed. According to her family, the manager immediately went to the back room of the store to try to delete the security camera footage and then fled on her bicycle.
Emergency medical teams who arrived at the scene took Jessica to the hospital. Examinations revealed that she had suffered severe brain damage due to a lack of oxygen. The young woman remained on life support for several days. Her family stated that they had been by her side throughout the hospital process, but when they learned that her brain was no longer functioning, they made the heartbreaking decision to turn off the machines.
