A foreign national who confessed to killing an elderly couple found stabbed to death in their home in the Efeler district of Aydın has been arrested. The suspect stated that he entered the house to commit theft and panicked, committing the murder when the couple screamed.
After a knife attack on an elderly couple in the Efeler district of Aydın, the foreign national H.A, who was taken into custody, was referred to the court and arrested. The suspect confessed that he panicked and committed the murder after the couple screamed when he entered the house for theft.
KILLED ELDERLY COUPLE IN HOUSE HE ENTERED FOR THEFT
The procedures for the foreign national H.A (39), who was caught by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, have been completed.
The suspect was taken to the courthouse under heavy security measures. It was reported that the suspect, who confessed to his crime in his statement at the police station, claimed that he did not know Turgut Çakaloğlu, that he entered the house for theft because he needed money, and that he stabbed Çakaloğlu after he screamed, and killed Nuran Çakaloğlu to prevent her from screaming.
ARRESTED
The suspect stated that he later threw away the clothes he wore on the day of the incident and the knife in the Kuyulu area. After his interrogation at the prosecutor's office, he was arrested by the judge at the court to which he was referred.
It was learned that H.A stated in his testimony at the court that he had also gone to the house a few days before the incident, knocked on the door, but no one answered.
INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS MUNICIPAL STAFF
H.A explained that on the day of the murder, he pretended to be a municipal staff member to get the victim to open the door, saying, "After the incident, I threw away the necklace and earrings I stole out of fear of being caught. Then I regretted what I did and sat down and cried. I went to their house to get money; I did not plan to kill. I panicked when both of them screamed. I did it for my children. I used the money I took from the house to meet my children's needs and pay my debts and bills."
THE "BLUE BAG" GAVE AWAY THE SUSPECT
It was learned that the detail that gave away the suspect was the "blue bag." The police, who consulted the statements of the residents living on the street where the incident occurred, noted that a witness said he saw a blue bag full in front of the house while passing by the street, and when he passed the area again after a while, he did not see the bag.
After examining approximately 8,000 hours of security camera footage, the police saw a suspect with a blue bag in a region close to the street where the murder took place. Following this, the police initiated a study and identified the suspect as H.A.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 8, relatives of Nuran and Turgut Çakaloğlu, who had not heard from the couple in the Meşrutiyet Neighborhood on Culture Street, went to the house for a check.
Relatives who saw the couple motionless on the floor in the house reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and it was determined that the couple, who had cuts on their bodies, had lost their lives.
Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch suspected the movements of H.A, who was on foot in the area close to the house on the night of the incident, and the suspect was taken into custody in the Efeler Neighborhood.
