The suspect who killed a 12-year-old girl in Bağcılar has been arrested.

In the 15 July neighborhood of Bağcılar district in Istanbul, a suspect or suspects entered the apartment on the ground floor of a five-story building last night and attacked 12-year-old Meryem Samou and her 5-year-old brother Ahmet Samou with a stone. In the attack, Meryem Samou lost her life; her younger brother was injured.

"MY HEART IS BURNING"

The body of Meryem Samou, whose autopsy was completed at the Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue, was handed over to her mother Gülizar Samou. Speaking in front of the Forensic Medicine, mother Gülizar Samou cried out, "I want the death penalty. She was 12 years old. Everywhere was covered in blood. My daughter's hair was all blood. There was money in the house, but no one stole it. There was one child in our street, we reported him. He beat my child, he was also 12-13 years old. I don't know his name. He beat Muhammet Ali. I want the death penalty. My heart is burning," she lamented. The grieving mother, stating that her child was beaten by other children, cried out, "Two children beat Muhammet Ali. I don't know the names of the children who beat him. My heart is burning."

"THE MOTHER SAW HER CHILDREN LIKE THAT WHEN SHE CAME HOME"

Şaban Vaspan, a relative of the family, said, "Who would do this and why? We are thinking about that too. Who did this? Was the person who did this in their right mind? I was at work on the same street. My aunt called and informed me that something had happened to the family of the employee working with her. I didn't believe it. We don't know what to do. The mother was at work, and when she came home, she saw her children like that and had a nervous breakdown. They have 4 children, 2 were at home. One was at work, and one was with her," he said.

HE WAS ARRESTED AND SENT TO PRISON

Zekeriya A. was referred to the Bakırköy Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest after his interrogation at the police station. After his statement was taken by the court, Zekeriya A. was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of killing a child or a person who cannot defend themselves physically or mentally with monstrous feelings or by inflicting torture.
