The suspect in the incident that resulted in the death of two high school students and injuries to 14 others in Şanlıurfa was caught red-handed in a hidden room. Police teams, noticing a wheeled mechanism set up behind concrete and brick in the building's stairwell, broke through a concrete wall and found the suspect hiding in a lying position in the room, who was then taken to the police station.
On October 24, 2022, in the schools area of Viranşehir district in Şanlıurfa, high school students Ömer Faruk Çınar and Sümeyye Yeten lost their lives in an armed fight, and 14 others were injured. In the investigation launched, it was determined that the person responsible for the incident was a suspect and fugitive named S.D., who was wanted for "Threat with a weapon" and "Deliberately endangering public safety" crimes.
CAUGHT IN A SECRET ROOM
As part of the investigation, an operation was carried out by Special Operations Police at the address of the identified suspect after long efforts. When the police entered the house during the operation, they initially could not find the murder suspect S.D. in the apartments of the building. However, as a result of a detailed search conducted within the building, the police team noticed a wheeled mechanism set up behind concrete and brick in the stairwell, and by breaking the concrete wall, they found the fugitive murder suspect hiding in a lying position in the room they entered.
TAKEN TO THE POLICE STATION
The detained individual was taken to the police station under heavy security measures. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
