Twenty-six-year-old Lieutenant Hasan Atahan, who served in the Naval Forces Command in Kağıthane, was found dead in the apartment he shared with his cousin by his girlfriend, who was unable to reach him. Atahan's lifeless body was discovered lying on his back in the corridor. His girlfriend stated that he had no health issues and claimed that he had recently expressed feelings like "I'm tired of living."
A suspicious death occurred yesterday around 00:00 in a house located in the Ortabayır neighborhood of the Kağıthane district in Istanbul. According to the information obtained, Azra L. (22), who had not heard from her boyfriend Hasan Atahan (26) for a while, went to the house where Atahan's cousin Hasan K. (22) lived.
THE LIEUTENANT'S LIFLESS BODY WAS FOUND IN THE CORRIDOR
As the door did not open, entry was made with the help of a locksmith. Upon entering the house, it was seen that Hasan Atahan was lying motionless on his back in the corridor.
RECENT EXPRESSIONS USED CAUGHT ATTENTION
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. In the examination conducted by the health teams, it was determined that Hasan Atahan, who served as a lieutenant at the Naval Command in Beykoz Riva, had died from a gunshot wound to the head. Azra L., whose statement was taken, claimed that Atahan did not have any known health problems, but had recently said things like "I am tired of living."
NO NOTE WAS FOUND
It was learned that Atahan's cousin Hasan K. said that Atahan's mother, who lives in Gaziantep, could not reach him, and that he also did not attend the therapy session he participated in online, which is why they came to the address out of concern for his life. Furthermore, it was reported that Atahan lived with a roommate but was alone in the house at the time of the incident.
Police teams did not find any suicide note during their investigations at the address. After the work of the crime scene investigation teams, Hasan Atahan's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution morgue. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
