In a tragic incident that occurred at an elementary school in South Korea, a teacher is alleged to have stabbed her 8-year-old student. The girl was found unconscious on the second floor of the school's audiovisual room and was urgently taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, she passed away.
It is claimed that an eight-year-old girl was stabbed to death by a teacher at her school in South Korea.
The alleged incident took place in the Seo District. When the girl did not come to her art class at school, her family reported her missing. The police were dispatched to the school and found two people with stab wounds on the second floor of the audiovisual room. One was the girl, and the other was the teacher.
According to authorities, the young girl was found in a state of unconsciousness and was urgently taken to the hospital, but it was tragically announced that she passed away shortly after.
The 40-year-old teacher was found nearby with stab wounds to her neck and arm. The teacher was taken into surgery for the treatment of her wounds, and the police stated that it appeared she had inflicted the stab wounds on herself.
Local news agency Yonhap reported that the teacher confessed to the stabbing.
According to local media, the suspect was a full-time teacher who had just returned from a leave of absence. The police stated that the teacher had no known relationship with the child.
The police indicated that they plan to investigate the motivations behind this horrific stabbing incident after the teacher recovers from surgery.
Daejeon education authorities confirmed that the elementary school would be closed on Tuesday.
