During the group proposal made by the DEM Party in the General Assembly of the Parliament, a debate on the "rule of law" took place. During the heated discussions that raised tensions in the Parliament, CHP member Ali Mahir Başarır targeted AK Party member Osman Gökçek through his father, Melih Gökçek, and after facing allegations against himself, he recounted the "wolf-donkey" story.

In the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, a debate on the "rule of law" took place during the discussions of the group proposal made by the DEM Party regarding the appointment of trustees.

AK Party Istanbul Deputy Cüneyt Yüksel, who stated, "No one has the right or authority to commit crimes or assist terrorism and terrorist organizations, even if elected," was responded to by DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Koçyiğit, who said, "You are conducting an operation here through the law because our city consensus formula has caused you great losses."

"THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF REPORTS OF IRREGULARITIES"

CHP Group Deputy Chair Başarır asked, "The inspectors of the Ministry of Interior have hundreds of reports of irregularities related to your municipalities. Why is their door not knocked on one morning?"

GÖKÇEK: MY FATHER UNDERWENT 500 INVESTIGATIONS

Following Başarır's remarks, AK Party Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek took the floor, stating that his father, former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek, underwent 500 investigations during his tenure as mayor and 20 investigations after his term, and that he went to give statements.

GÖKÇEK'S CLAIM THAT RAISED TENSIONS

Gökçek claimed that Başarır told him in the corridor, "Ask your father not to tweet about me. I won't talk about your father at the podium either." Gökçek also alleged that the Mayor of Mezitli was living in a house in Bodrum owned by Başarır's father-in-law, asking, "What kind of relationship do you have with the Mayor of Mezitli? What kind of relationship do you have regarding the land increases there?"

"I AM NOT OBLIGED TO BEAR MY FATHER'S SINS"

CHP's Başarır, who stated that he encountered Gökçek behind the podium once, claimed that Gökçek told him, "Don't say these things to me about my father; I am not obliged to bear my father's sins." Başarır pointed out that there is not a single summer house on his father-in-law's property in Bodrum, stating that only his mother-in-law has a 100 square meter house, which could also be investigated by the Parliament.

REMINDING THE "WOLF-DONKEY" STORY

Ali Mahir Başarır continued his words as follows: "Now, you tell me, 'I have a house worth 600 million, bring 500 million, I will give it to you.' My dear, where would we find 500 million, that dirty money would be with you.

I will tell a story from here: One day, a wolf and a donkey argue and go before a lion. I am telling a story from here. The wolf is one hundred percent right. The lion says, 'You are wrong.' 'Why? I am right?' says the wolf. 'Because you are arguing with a donkey,' he says."
