The accident occurred late at night near the rural Köksalan neighborhood of Şehitkamil district on the Gaziantep-Kahramanmaraş highway. According to allegations, the car with license plate 46 AIC 925, driven by Nuri Akkurt (43), crashed into the back of a truck loaded with corn silage with license plate 46 AGH 214, controlled by A.Ç. In the accident, the driver Nuri Akkurt, his mother Rahime Akkurt (65), and their relative Cemile Akkurt (53) lost their lives.

The bodies of Nuri, Rahime, and Cemile Akkurt, who lost their lives in the accident, were handed over to their relatives for burial after the procedures were completed at the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institution. It has been reported that the funerals will be held in Kahramanmaraş.
