The testimonies of the suspects who facilitated the escape of FETÖ fugitive Adil Öksüz have emerged: They hitchhiked.

The testimony of the suspect who helped the so-called TSK imam Adil Öksüz escape after the July 15 coup attempt, as well as the owner of the vehicle in which they were caught, has emerged. Adem Bora, who was expelled from the TSK, defended himself by saying, "First Cihat Yıldız hitchhiked, and a few meters ahead, Ahmet Hızal hitchhiked." The lawyer of the suspect Cihat Yıldız also demanded his client's release, claiming that the witnesses were making false accusations to escape from the crime.

In the operation against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) in Istanbul, the testimonies of Cihat Yıldız, who was arrested on the grounds of facilitating the escape of Adil Öksüz, the so-called TSK imam of the organization, after the July 15 coup attempt, and Adem Bora, the owner of the car in which he was caught, have been reached.

Cihat Yıldız, one of the suspects who were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with the request for their arrest after their interrogations at the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office, stated that he was a teacher by profession during the identification process at the court. Yıldız, who claimed to be innocent, requested to be released.

Yıldız's lawyer also requested the release of his client, claiming that the witnesses made false accusations to escape from the crime. The lawyer, who claimed that his client did not surrender because he did not trust the judicial authorities in Turkey, but also did not attempt to flee abroad, stated that Yıldız was being tried for the same crime in Istanbul 36th Heavy Penal Court and that the file should be sent to this court. Adem Bora, the owner of the car in which Cihat Yıldız and Ahmet Hızal were caught, stated that he did not work and declared a monthly income of 20 thousand liras.

"THEY HITCHHIKED"

Bora, who requested to be released, used the expression "Cihat Yıldız hitchhiked first, and a few meters ahead, Ahmet Hızal hitchhiked. I demand to be released." in his statement.

THEY WERE ARRESTED

After the testimonies taken at the court, it was decided to arrest the two suspects on charges of "being a member of an armed terrorist organization". The decision stated that Cihat Yıldız "was in the position of 'general manager' in the Air Force structure of the FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization, and was considered to be the TSK imam of the terrorist organization during the July 15 coup attempt, and played a role in hiding and smuggling Adil Öksüz, who is considered to be the imam of the organization, in Turkey."

The decision also included findings that Yıldız, who was found to use code names within the organization, "operated as the imam of FETO in Amasya province, used the organization's encrypted communication program called ByLock, deposited money in Bank Asya after the instructions of the organization's leader, had contact with the top executives of the organization, and used the program called Signal, which is used for organizational secrecy within the current structure of the terrorist organization."

The decision stated that there were witness statements indicating Yıldız's position within the organization and his active role in the coup attempt, as well as the fact that he continued his activities actively within the organization after the coup attempt. The reason for the arrest of the suspect Adem Bora included findings that he traveled with Cihat Yıldız and Ahmet Hızal, camera records, and the report of the telephone booth. The other suspect, Ahmet Hızal, was also arrested after his interrogation at another court.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the operations against individuals who are active in the fugitive and current structure of FETO, the suspects Cihat Yıldız and Ahmet Hızal, who tried to escape from the car stopped at a checkpoint by the Beylikdüzü District Police Department, were caught after a pursuit, and the car owner Adem Bora was detained at his residence. It was determined that Yıldız had a connection with Adil Öksüz, who is known as the TSK imam of FETO, stayed with him for a week in the house where Öksüz hid in Üsküdar after the July 15 coup attempt, and helped Öksüz escape by taking him from the house with a member of the organization named Rüştü.

It was revealed that Yıldız, who was found to use the encrypted communication application of the organization called ByLock, worked as a teacher in affiliated institutions of the organization and had been wanted for 8 years for the crime of "attempting to abolish the constitutional order". It was also determined that Ahmet Hızal, who was caught in the same car with Yıldız, was active in the military confidential structure of the organization and held the position of a doctor responsible for the organization's military personnel at the Air Force Command, and was dismissed from teaching.

It was learned that Adem Bora, who was a captain in the Air Force Command, was dismissed by a Decree with the Force of Law and was processed for being a member of the "FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization", and it was determined that Bora, who was found to have an active role in the current structure of the organization, provided shelter for fugitive members of the organization.
