The traffic hooligan who slapped national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli has been arrested.

Olympic, world and European champion national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli was attacked by the driver Sedat Karatay, who got out of the truck that crashed into her car during a 'give way' argument while she was driving in traffic in Trabzon. The suspect, who was taken into custody by the police, was arrested on charges of 'intentional injury' and 'insult'.

The incident took place on the State Coast Road Ganita area in İskenderpaşa neighborhood around 22:30 the day before yesterday. Sedat Karatay, the driver of the truck with license plate number 61 KS 409, tried to overtake the car driven by Olympic, world and European champion national boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli, who was driving in front of him, due to the slow traffic caused by heavy rain and the formation of puddles on the road.

ARRESTED

Karatay crashed into the front of Sürmeneli's car due to the 'give way' argument. Karatay, who got out of his stopped vehicle, allegedly slapped Busenaz Sürmeneli. The suspect, who is also accused of swearing at the national boxer, left the area with his car. The suspect, who was quickly apprehended by the police teams upon receiving the notification, and who was found to have multiple criminal records, was arrested on charges of 'intentional injury' and 'insult' after being questioned in custody and referred to the court.
