To prove that intercontinental travel can be done solely by walking, British traveler Karl Bushby, who set off from Chile 26 years ago, completed an important stage of his approximately 50,000-kilometer journey in Istanbul. The 56-year-old Bushby crossed the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge on foot, stepping from Asia to Europe.

Starting his journey from Chile in 1998, Bushby has traversed the entire American continent to date, passing through geographical areas considered impossible to cross, such as the Darien Gap, and reached North America from Panama. The traveler, who walked to Alaska through Mexico, the USA, and Canada, made history in 2006 by crossing the Bering Strait on ice to enter Russia.
