The claim that 20 citizens were sold vehicles with fake documents and license plates at an automotive dealership in Adana, and that some citizens were not even given vehicles, has caused a significant uproar. The customer representative who handled the transactions left a note saying, "I don't want to harm you any further. I have debts," and then committed suicide.
In the Yüreğir district of Adana, 20 citizens applied to an automotive dealership on different dates to purchase vehicles. A customer representative named S.E. (41) attended to the customers. However, some of those who paid money to buy vehicles could not receive their cars despite making payments, and some had their vehicles seized by the police when it was discovered that the cars had fake license plates. Following this, citizens who came to the plaza to file complaints also reported the incident to the prosecutor's office. The customer representative who handled the citizens' transactions, Selim E., left a note on the terrace of his house in the Tellidere neighborhood of Seyhan district saying, "I do not want to harm you any further. I have debts," and committed suicide.
"I PAID A 200 THOUSAND DEPOSIT TO THE IBAN THEY SENT"
The affected citizens protested by coming to the front of the plaza. One of the victims, S.N., stated that he had previously bought cars from the same dealership three times but was defrauded of 2 million 854 thousand lira this time, saying, "When I came to buy the last car, I spoke not only with the sales consultant but also with the manager. They agreed to sell me the car for 2 million 854 thousand lira after negotiating. I also paid 72 thousand lira for accessories. I paid a total of 2 million 926 thousand lira to this dealership. They said, 'If the price of the car increases after the holiday, we will exempt you from the increase, but if the price decreases, we will lower it.' The car price did not decrease. I sent a deposit of 200 thousand lira to the IBAN they sent on the same day.
"THE POLICE TOOK THE CAR THEY DELIVERED TO US"
Later, the total amount of money I sent to the same account is 2 million 854 thousand lira. The owner, manager, and all the staff of the company ceremoniously delivered my car to me. I even gave them a tip. They gave me the license plate 01 SN 326, and then I received a call from the Adana Police Department. They said there had been fraud related to the car. We are currently victims. They delivered the car to me, but the police took it back from us," he said.
"I CURRENTLY HAVE A LOSS OF 3 MILLION LIRA"
The victim Y.Ç. expressed that he bought his 4th car from the same dealership but was defrauded, stating, "They sold us the same vehicle with a fake plate and fake registration. They sold the same car to other people along with us. Last Thursday, they delivered the car to us with a fake plate and fake registration. Last night, the police came. They took the car back from us, citing that the license plate was fake and that the car was delivered to us unlawfully. Right now, I have a loss of 3 million lira just for myself. I have all the IBANs and receipts. For now, there are 15-20 victims along with me. We do not know how many more will come forward. We are complaining about everyone from the dealership and the owner to the employees. Because this is a collective issue. The company claims that they are also victims. We are complaining about the dealership. Selim E. has also committed suicide, and I want this suicide to be investigated," he said.
