The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv announced that it has closed the embassy, warning that Russia may carry out a major airstrike on Ukraine today.

In a written statement from the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, it was noted that special information had been received regarding a potential major airstrike by Russia today. The statement said, "To be prepared, the embassy will be closed today. Embassy staff have been instructed to remain in place. The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens to be ready to go to shelters immediately in the event of an airstrike alarm," it was stated.
