The United States vetoed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza for the 4th time. In the UNSC, a draft resolution was discussed that demands an urgent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, and the prevention of deaths from starvation. The draft resolution was put to a vote by the 10 elected members of the UNSC, which includes Algeria, Ecuador, Guyana, South Korea, Switzerland, Malta, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia, out of a total of 15 members. BLOCKED FOR THE 4TH TIMEThe draft resolution vetoed by the United States received "yes" votes from the other 14 members. Thus, the resolution was blocked by the United States for the 4th time. Meanwhile, the U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Robert Wood, also attended the meeting.
