A man who shot his nephew due to a land dispute over hazelnut picking in Samsun was caught in an operation supported by special operations police after the gendarmerie identified the house where he was hiding and he resisted.
The incident occurred on September 17 in the rural neighborhood of Yeşiltepe in the Atakum district of Samsun. According to the information obtained, Cemal C. shot his brother's son, Birol C., with a gun due to a land dispute arising from the hazelnut picking issue. IT TURNED OUT HE WAS WANTED FOR 4 DIFFERENT CRIMES Birol C., who was taken to Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Medical Faculty Hospital, was placed under treatment. The uncle, Cemal C., who shot his nephew, disappeared after the incident. The teams of the Atakum District Gendarmerie Command identified the house where Cemal C. was hiding as a result of their follow-up and work. When Cemal C. resisted with a weapon against the gendarmerie teams, support was requested from the special operations police. The gendarmerie and special operations police carried out an operation at the house where Cemal C. was hiding. Cemal C., who was taken into custody, was referred to the Samsun Courthouse. It was revealed that Cemal C. was wanted for 4 different crimes, and he was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to Samsun Type T Closed Prison. Cemal C.'s statement upon leaving the courthouse drew attention: "I shot 2 police, 2 gendarmerie, and took down 4 soldiers. I'm a lion, a lion."
