In Küçükçekmece, underground electrical cables belonging to BEDAŞ suddenly exploded and caught fire. The flames spread to a parked car. As the car turned to ashes, a witness, a shopkeeper, stated, "BEDAŞ arrived 1.5 hours later. There is a thick cable running through here, and it malfunctions at least 10 times a year."
According to information obtained on Halkalı Zeynebiye Street in the Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul, underground electric cables belonging to Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (BEDAŞ) suddenly exploded and started to burn.
THE CAR BURNT FLAMING
The flames spread to a parked car. The car started to burn fiercely. Upon notification, fire crews arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire in a short time. The terrifying moments were captured by a mobile phone camera.
"IT BREAKS DOWN AT LEAST 10 TIMES A YEAR"
Merchant Hanifi Çınar, who stated that BEDAŞ teams arrived 1.5 hours later, said, "Smoke was coming out. I went to the car, broke the window, and was going to save the vehicle, but I couldn't. BEDAŞ never came. The fire department came first. BEDAŞ arrived 1.5 hours later. The underground cables ignited the vehicle. A thick cable passes here, and it breaks down at least 10 times a year. We experience power outages in the same way at least 4.5 times."
