MK-84 FAMOUS FOR HOSPITAL MASSACRE

The MK-84, an American-made general-purpose bomb, is known as a massacre tool used by Israel in the bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza. Not only in this hospital but also due to the high level of destruction by the Israeli administration, this bomb was used in attacks on many hospitals and tents in Gaza. WHAT IS THE MK-84 BOMB?

The MK-84, also known as Mark 84 bomb and BLU-117, is recognized as an American-made general-purpose bomb. The Mark 84, the largest weapon in the Mark 80 series, was first introduced during the Vietnam War. The Mark 84, which contains a high amount of packaged explosives, has been frequently used by the U.S. as a dumb bomb.

Weighing 907 KG, this bomb can vary between 894-945 kg depending on certain configurations. The bomb contains 429 kg of tritonal high explosive, composed of 80% TNT and 20% aluminum, and is housed in an aerodynamic steel casing. The Mark 84 has a crater formation capacity of 15 meters in width and 11 meters in depth. Additionally, this bomb can penetrate 38 cm of metal and 3.4 meters of concrete, potentially causing lethal fragmentation within a radius of 370 meters. Today, Mark 84 bombs are being re-equipped with added precision guidance capabilities.
