Following the post praising the U.S. Central Command's (CENTCOM) attack on Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi gave a notable response. In a statement on social media, Arakchi ironically thanked the U.S., saying, "Thank you to CENTCOM for admitting that our neighbors are using their territories to deploy HIMARS systems against our people."
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi, in a statement to the American press, evaluated the possibility of new negotiations with the Washington administration and the recent developments in Iran.
"THEY ATTACKED WHILE NEGOTIATIONS WERE UNDERWAY"
Arakchi stated that during the negotiations between Tehran and Washington officials in February, they said that 'the Americans had no intention of attacking,' yet reported that the U.S. attacked in his country.
"WE ARE WAITING FOR MUJTEBA HAMANEY'S COMMENTS"
Emphasizing that Mujteba Hamaney's coming to power sends a message of both continuity and a kind of stability, Arakchi said, "We are all waiting for his speeches and comments, which will come later."
"MEETING WITH THE U.S. IS NO LONGER ON THE AGENDA"
Arakchi noted that he thinks meeting with the U.S. will no longer be on their agenda, stating, "I do not believe that the issue of meeting or negotiating again with the Americans will be on the table, because we have quite a bitter experience regarding meetings with the Americans."
"THE ATTACKS BY THE U.S. AND ISRAEL ARE ILLEGAL"
The Iranian Foreign Minister Arakchi expressed that oil tankers are afraid to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Arakchi stated, "We did not close the strait. We are not preventing them from passing through the strait."
"IRAN IS DEFENDING ITSELF"
Describing the attacks by the U.S. and Israel on his country as 'a completely illegal act of aggression,' Arakchi emphasized that Iran is 'only defending itself.' Arakchi said, "We have already told everyone in the region that 'if the U.S. attacks us, we will have to attack their bases, facilities, installations, and assets in the region because we will not be able to reach American territory, and as a result, the war will spread throughout the region.' This is a consequence of the U.S. aggression against us. We are not responsible for this."

Following CENTCOM's message boasting about using the unmatched HIMARS to strike Iran's desalination facility from Bahrain against the Iranian regime, Arakchi thanked the U.S. on social media. Arakchi said, "Thank you to CENTCOM for admitting that you used the lands of our neighbors to deploy HIMARS systems against our people; apparently, there is also a desalination facility among these systems. If our powerful missiles destroy these systems wherever they are located, no one should complain."
