Reports based on three unnamed U.S. officials in the U.S. media suggested that the U.S. would withdraw all of its approximately one thousand soldiers in Syria. The reports indicated that the process of withdrawing all troops is ongoing, and it is expected that the U.S. will complete the withdrawal within the next two months.
THE U.S. HAD PREVIOUSLY EVACUATED THE SHADDADI AND AL-TANF BASES
The U.S. military had recently handed over the strategic Shaddadi Base located in the rural area of Hasakah and the strategic Al-Tanf Military Base located at the intersection of the borders of Syria, Iraq, and Jordan to the Syrian army.
