The trial of the five minors began at the Bakırköy 4th Juvenile Court.

While the Minguzzi family did not attend the hearing, the lawyers for both parties were present. After the defense of the minors was taken, the decision was announced. FROM THE INDICTMENT

The indictment prepared by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office described the incident that occurred on April 8, 2025. In the indictment concerning the five minors, it was stated that Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the son of complainants Yasemin Akıncılar Minguzzi and Andrea Minguzzi, was stabbed to death by individuals named Berkay Budak and Umutcan Baba at the Kadıköy market on January 24, 2025. It was noted in the indictment that shortly before the first hearing date, systematic and persistent threats were made to the complainants via social media accounts, including messages such as "In 7 days, we will do things that you will never forget, you won't dare to go out," "We will make you experience hell in the last 6 days," "You fools, am I as stupid as you? You can report the stolen plates and motorcycles anywhere, you won't find them, we will meet in court soon," "Your only action is talk, you are ineffective, we can do anything you can think of," "Berkay is not alone, soon we will do things that will make you question if these are humans," "A cold night, two crazed individuals, and tons of revenge to be taken." It was also mentioned that the complainants were tagged in these posts. The indictment recorded that the complainants filed a complaint due to the threats.

In the indictment, it was stated that on April 6, a message was sent to complainant Yasemin Akıncılar Minguzzi's mobile phone saying, "Good morning Yasemin sister, have a good day, I am Kaan. I am a friend of Bedirhan K. One of those who threatened you before has apologized for this and said he regrets it, he wants your forgiveness, will you forgive my friend?"

As a result of the work carried out by the police teams, it was determined that the number from which the message was sent was used by the minor M.G. Additionally, it was established that the social media account from which the threatening messages were sent was also used by the minor M.G. The indictment stated that the minor M.G. admitted to sending the threatening messages. Another minor, E.K., was recorded in the indictment as having shared photos of Umutcan Baba with the caption, "Prison is bitter, its fruit is sweet, patience is like a lion..., my lion brother, you wouldn't want it to be this way either." The indictment revealed that another minor, A.D., commented under the posts saying, "Of course, my lion brother," while minor H.E.A. shared a photo of Umutcan Baba with the caption, "I am a victim of your smile." It was also reported that another minor, K.G., commented under a post about Berkay Budak saying, "Of course, my lion brother." The minors, whose statements were taken, admitted to making the aforementioned posts and comments, stating that their intention was not to commit a crime. The indictment noted that the minors had connections with each other and with the perpetrators of the murder of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, Umutcan Baba and Berkay Budak, stating that "The act of murder has created a significant impact on the national agenda and caused outrage, and that social media is effectively used by young people in the age range of the minors, and despite the numerous news and posts related to the murder, they made supportive posts and comments, providing psychological support to the actual perpetrator through their threatening actions." In the prepared indictment, it was requested that the minors H.E.A., E.K., A.S.D., K.G., and M.G. be sentenced to 1 year and 8 months to 5 years and 10 months for the crime of 'Threatening multiple people with a weapon' with a reduction applied due to their age, and up to 1 year and 4 months for the crime of "Praising the crime and the criminal."
