The leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, made a statement regarding the results of the presidential elections held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, saying, "The parliament of the TRNC should convene, declare that the election results are unacceptable, and make a decision to join Turkey."

The presidential election in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was held. According to the results from 580 out of 777 ballot boxes, Tufan Erhürman, the leader of the main opposition party CTP, became the new president of the TRNC.

BAHÇELİ'S DRAMATIC CALL AFTER THE ELECTION RESULTS

Following the announcement of the election results, a striking statement came from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. Bahçeli stated that the TRNC parliament should convene and declare that they do not accept the election results, and he said that the TRNC should be integrated into the Republic of Turkey.

In his statement, Bahçeli said, "The results of the election held in the TRNC have occurred with very low participation. The fate of the Turkish Cypriots cannot be represented with this level of participation. Even if the election results have been announced by the election board, the TRNC parliament must urgently convene and declare that the election results and the return to federation cannot be accepted, and they must make a decision to join the Republic of Turkey."
