After the completion of the voting process in the presidential election in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the first results have started to come in. The Chairman of the Supreme Election Board, Bertan Özerdağ, announced that 753 out of 777 ballot boxes have been opened, and that the current President Ersin Tatar received 35.77% of the votes, while the leader of the CTP, Tufan Erhürman, received 62.83% of the votes.

VOTE COUNTING HAS BEGUN
After the completion of the voting process in the presidential election, the vote counting has begun. The counting process, which started at the election centers, is being conducted under the supervision of the TRNC Supreme Election Council (SEC) and in the presence of the ballot box committee.
FIRST RESULTS ANNOUNCED
The Chairman of the Supreme Election Council (SEC), Bertan Özerdağ, provided information about the vote counting process of the presidential elections. Özerdağ stated that unofficial results have been received from 580 out of 777 ballot boxes across the TRNC, revealing that the current President Ersin Tatar received 35.27% of the votes, while the CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman received 63.28% of the votes.
THE PRESIDENT WILL BE THE ONE WHO RECEIVES 50+1 VOTES IN THE FIRST ROUND
In the TRNC, where there are 218,313 voters, a candidate must receive a simple majority of valid votes to be elected president. If any candidate receives 50+1 votes in the first round of the election, they are elected president. If no candidate achieves a simple majority, the top two candidates with the most votes in the first round will participate in the second round of elections to be held within 7 days. The candidate with the highest votes in the second round will be entitled to take the presidential seat.
