A federal judge in the U.S., Arun Subramanian, announced his decision regarding the famous rapper "Diddy," who has been in the spotlight due to numerous allegations of "sexual offenses."
4 YEARS 2 MONTHS IN PRISON AND $500,000 IN DAMAGES
Subramanian announced that the rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison for the crime of "transporting women across state lines for the purpose of sex trafficking." Diddy was also ordered to pay $500,000 in damages.
PREPARING TO APPEAL THE DECISION
Diddy, who has been in custody for a year, may have a chance for a reduced sentence. While the rapper's lawyers announced that they would appeal the court's decision, they requested his "immediate release," referring to the time their client has spent in prison. Meanwhile, prosecutors had sought an 11-year prison sentence, citing Diddy's history of violence.
FILLED WITH SCANDALS
Diddy was taken into custody on September 16, 2024, on charges of sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, arson, drug possession, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
The indictment shared with the public by the court stated that Combs organized parties called "Freak Offs," which sometimes lasted for days, and forced attendees into sexual relations. It was also reported that he threatened victims by using his influence to control their careers, committed psychological and physical violence, and offered bribes to keep them silent.
DENIED SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS
Sean Combs denied all charges against him in the federal court where he appeared in Manhattan. With Diddy being acquitted of the charges of "forced sex trafficking" and "blackmail," the possibility of him receiving a life sentence has been eliminated.
