SUITCASES THAT EXCEED THE WEIGHT LIMIT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON VEHICLES
Metro Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, made a new announcement regarding the increasing number of passengers traveling with luggage in urban transportation. The statement reminded passengers of the luggage carrying rules in metro lines where passenger density has increased, in order to maintain safety and comfort.
In the announcement, it was stated that suitcases heavier than 30 kilograms or larger than 120×60×50 centimeters will not be allowed in stations and vehicles, and large camping-type bags will also be considered as luggage.
The announcement mentioned that passengers can carry a maximum of 1 large suitcase along with 1 cabin-sized suitcase or 1 small/medium-sized backpack.
ADDITIONAL FEE FOR EXCESS LUGGAGE
It was stated in the announcement that an additional travel fee will be charged for passengers wishing to enter with more than one suitcase, and it was advised, "Please do not place your suitcases on the seats and do not block the passages. You can use the standing areas next to the doors."
