In the search conducted on three separate trucks with Turkish license plates attempting to arrive at the Edirne Kapıkule Border Gate via Bulgaria, a total of 85,309 euros and 426 grams of gold were seized.
In the checks conducted on trucks carrying cargo from Germany and France to Turkey, 426 grams of gold hidden in the cabin, suitcase, pillow, and socks were seized, along with foreign currency concealed under the steering wheel. Legal action was initiated against the suspects while the foreign currency and gold were confiscated.
DETAILED SEARCH CONDUCTED
A truck carrying car parts and metal and plastic products from Germany to Turkey was subjected to a detailed search after a risk analysis. During the checks, 54,700 euros and 6,890 US dollars were found hidden in the driver's cabin, in a suitcase, and in the bed pillows.
MONEY HIDDEN IN SOCKS
In another truck carrying cargo from France to Turkey, 21,600 British pounds were seized during the checks. It was reported that part of the money was found in a bag in the driver's cabin, while the remaining part was hidden in the driver's socks.
426 GRAMS OF GOLD FOUND UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL
In another truck search, 426 grams of gold were found wrapped in a black t-shirt after removing the plastic cover under the steering wheel. It was determined that the gold belonged to the truck driver.
FOREIGN CURRENCY AND GOLD CONFISCATED
The teams confiscated the seized foreign currency and gold while legal action was initiated against the suspects under the Money Law and Customs Law.
