Due to heavy rainfall in the Köyceğiz district of Muğla, Köyceğiz Lake overflowed. Many homes and businesses were flooded as a result of the flooding.
In the Köyceğiz district of Muğla, after about a week of continuous rainfall, the overflow of Köyceğiz Lake resulted in flooding of homes and businesses.
THE LAKE LEVEL RAISED BY 60 CENTIMETERS
After the heavy rains affecting the district, the waters from the Namnam, Yuvarlakçay, and Kargıcak streams that feed Köyceğiz Lake raised the lake's level by approximately 60 centimeters.
The rising water level of the lake submerged the promenade and the road. Some neighborhoods in the front part of the lake were exposed to flooding.
HOMES AND BUSINESSES FLOODED
The basements of some homes and businesses were flooded. Due to the rising water, the greenhouse, citrus orchard, homes, and vehicles on Hamidiye road were submerged.
A dog trapped in a business on the promenade was rescued by animal lovers. Firefighters began working to drain the water from the flooded homes and businesses.
