A woman caused a brief panic by lying on the hood of a car at a police checkpoint in Kadıköy, saying, "I jumped in front of the car under the influence of alcohol. Honestly, I was embarrassed, but on the other hand, it was funny. There was no malicious intent."

A woman who caused a commotion by lying on the hood of a car at a police station established in Caddebostan, a district of Kadıköy in Istanbul, spoke out. A passenger, who was claimed to be under the influence of alcohol, jumped in front of a vehicle, alleging that the car was using its siren, and the incident became a hot topic on social media.

"I DID IT UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL, I HAD NO MALICIOUS INTENT"

After the incident, the female passenger stated that what happened was a misunderstanding and developed under the influence of alcohol. She mentioned that she was in the car with her friends that night and claimed that three people acted like plainclothes police, announcing their license plate and asking them to stop while they were driving on the road.

In her statement, the female passenger said, "While we were going on our normal way, three of our female friends told us to stop as if they were plainclothes police and announced our license plate. Suddenly, the light turned on, and we had to pass. While trying to move to the right, we almost hit a pedestrian. Thankfully, we didn't hit anyone. When I arrived at the police station before them, I explained the situation. I had also consumed a bit of alcohol at that moment. Under the influence of alcohol, I jumped in front of the car and told them to stop. I had no malicious intent. I have nothing against our police."

"I WAS EMBARRASSED BUT IT WAS ALSO FUNNY"

The female passenger, who also mentioned that she went live on social media during the incident, stated that things escalated suddenly. She said, "I was live. Suddenly, the incident escalated and became a joke on social media. Honestly, I was embarrassed, but on the other hand, it was funny. There was no malicious intent. Later, they also made a statement. They said they did it to have a joke with us. But the joke made at that moment was not funny at all. Thankfully, we didn't hit the pedestrian."

A FINE WAS IMPOSED

Following the incident, the female passenger was fined for "endangering pedestrians on the road," while it was learned that no action was taken against the other individuals as no complaints were made against them.
