Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who made the first statement regarding the two-week ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump concerning attacks on Iran, stated, "Israel supports President Trump's suspension of attacks on Iran for a two-week period, provided that Tehran opens the Strait of Hormuz and agrees to a ceasefire." However, Netanyahu argued that the ceasefire does not include Lebanon.

HE BOTH SUPPORTED AND QUALIFIED

According to a written statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, Netanyahu supported Trump's decision regarding the two-week ceasefire with Iran.

Claiming that the two-week ceasefire with Iran does not include Lebanon, Netanyahu stated, "In addition to Iran not having nuclear weapons, we support the efforts made by the U.S. to prevent Iran from threatening Israel, the U.S., Gulf countries, and world nations with missiles."

WHAT HAPPENED?

U.S. President Trump made an important announcement regarding the talks mediated by Pakistan just hours before the deadline he set for Iran. Trump stated that the negotiations between the two countries, led by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, yielded positive results.

The U.S. President expressed that he accepted Pakistan's proposal to halt possible attacks and open the Strait of Hormuz, stating, "I agree to suspend bombings and attacks on Iran for a two-week period. This will be a bilateral ceasefire."

Claiming that he has already achieved his military objectives in Iran and that they are close to an agreement on a "long-term" peace with Iran, Trump stated, "We received a ten-point proposal from Iran, and we believe it is a viable basis for negotiation."

Noting that almost all disputes between the U.S. and Iran in the past have been resolved through consensus, Trump said, "This two-week period will allow for the finalization and completion of the agreement." He also added that it would be an honor for him to represent the countries in the Middle East in resolving a "long-term issue."

ISRAEL AND IRAN ALSO ACCEPTED

Following the U.S., it was reported that Israel and Iran also accepted the ceasefire. An unnamed White House official stated that Iran and Israel are part of the two-week ceasefire announced by President Donald Trump and that Israel agreed to suspend attacks while negotiations are ongoing. It was learned that China intervened at the last moment for Iran to accept the ceasefire, and Beijing requested flexibility from Tehran.

STATEMENT FROM THE PAKISTANI PRIME MINISTER

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made a statement regarding the temporary ceasefire achieved between the U.S., Israel, and Iran under his country's mediation. Sharif said, "I am very pleased to announce that we have reached an immediate ceasefire that is valid on all fronts, including Lebanon, with Iran and the U.S. along with their allies."

Expressing his deepest gratitude to the leaders of both countries for reaching a ceasefire, Sharif said, "I invite the delegations of both sides to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, to reach a comprehensive agreement that will definitively resolve all disputes."
