In July, 23-year-old Fetiye Balgün, who lost her baby during childbirth, was injured when she fell down the stairs at her home. Balgün, taken to the Edremit State Hospital Emergency Room by her husband, was shocked when she tried to register for treatment. The registration officer told Balgün that she was listed as deceased in the hospital records. The young woman was shocked to learn that she was considered dead in the records. THEY GAVE ME THE DOCUMENT THAT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO MY CHILDFetiye Balgün, who shared her experience with İhlas News Agency, said, "I fell down the stairs, hit my nose, and it swelled. You can see that it even turned purple. Then when I went to the hospital to get treatment, I handed over my ID, and they entered my ID number and said, 'you are dead, no procedures can be done for you.' My husband witnessed this too. How can I come out as dead? I lost my child a month and a half, two months ago. But instead of giving me a death certificate for my child, they are showing me as dead." THE MISTAKE HAS BEEN CORRECTEDThe husband of the young woman, Görkem Balgün, explained their experience as follows: "I finished work and went straight home on my motorcycle when my wife called me. I saw blood everywhere. I took my wife to the hospital. When I entered the hospital and handed over her ID, they said, 'no procedures can be done for the deceased.' They kept us waiting there for an hour and a half and then sent us back." The confusion that occurred as a result of the records of Fetiye Balgün being listed as deceased instead of their child's records was corrected upon the complaint of the Balgün couple in Balıkesir.
