A debate broke out between DEM Party and İYİ Party members in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The words of DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık, "If you are going to make peace with the Kurds, do not threaten us, do not point fingers at us. You should also get out of our way. Otherwise, we will do whatever is necessary. If it's a fight, then it's a fight..." raised the tension in the Assembly. As the fight did not end, a break was called in the session.

The intense debates between the DEM Party and the İYİ Party members in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey brought the Assembly's work to a standstill. The tension that began during the speech of DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık escalated into a near-fight after mutual insults and harsh words shouted from the benches. Due to the rising tension, TBMM Deputy Speaker Pervin Buldan suspended the General Assembly.

SIRRI SAKIK'S SPEECH RAISED TENSION

While discussing the articles of the Bill on Amendments to the Highway Traffic Law in the Grand National Assembly, DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık made evaluations regarding developments in the Middle East. Sakık claimed that jihadist groups were attacking civilians in the region and argued that Turkey was not taking advantage of the opportunity for a peaceful solution.

"IF YOU WANT TO MAKE PEACE WITH KURDS, DON'T THREATEN"

Continuing his speech with harsh expressions, Sakık accused some parties in the Assembly of using threatening language towards Kurds. Sakık said, "If you want to make peace with Kurds, don't threaten us, don't point fingers at us. Instead of pointing fingers, establish a dialogue."

THE DISCUSSION FLARED UP WHEN İYİ PARTY INTERVENED

During Sakık's speech, the tension suddenly rose when İYİ Party Bursa Deputy Yüksel Selçuk Türkoğlu shouted remarks. Sakık responded with harsh words directed at the İYİ Party benches, saying, "Enough, we are tired of your voices. Do not insult us." He addressed the İYİ Party group, "You too, get out of our way. Otherwise, we will do whatever is necessary; if it comes to a fight, we will fight. We will not allow anyone to insult our honor and dignity. Know this. Do not insult us every time you take the podium. We will not accept this. We know where we have come from to be here. You are doing everything necessary to disrupt our concentration when we take the podium!"

PARTY MEMBERS WERE ABOUT TO CLASH

As Sakık completed his speech and returned to his seat, deputies from the İYİ Party and the DEM Party stood up and approached each other. Words like "rude," "immoral," and "don't act tough" were reflected in the Assembly minutes. Deputy Speaker Pervin Buldan frequently intervened, calling on the deputies to remain calm.

SUNAT ALSO ARGUED WITH BULDAN

Following the tension, İYİ Party Manisa Deputy Şenol Sunat accused Sakık of provocation when he took the podium. Sunat directed harsh criticisms at the DEM Party with the words, "This is the Republic of Turkey. You cannot say 'Kurdish provinces' or 'Kurdistan'." In response to Sunat's statements, Deputy Speaker Buldan intervened, saying, "You cannot address like this, do not insult."

RESPONSE TO BULDAN FURTHER RAISED TENSION

As Sunat continued his speech and increased his accusations against the DEM Party, Buldan warned him to turn off the microphone. At that moment, as remarks were shouted at Buldan from the İYİ Party benches, Buldan reacted with the words, "Know your limits." The verbal exchange between Sunat and Buldan further heightened the tension in the General Assembly.

As the debates continued and mutual verbal exchanges persisted, TBMM Deputy Speaker Pervin Buldan suspended the General Assembly for five minutes. After the break, as the deputies returned to their seats, the tense atmosphere in the Assembly was noticeable.
