The Yemeni Ministry of Defense, which has terminated the joint defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates, announced that it is ready to carry out all tasks to be assigned by the President of the Presidential Council, Rashad al-Alimi.

The official website of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, "26sepnews," published a statement expressing that the army stands behind the "national decisions."

The statement indicated that the armed forces are fully alert to carry out their constitutional duties and are "ready to fulfill all tasks assigned by Commander-in-Chief Alimi." It also appreciated the support provided to the Yemeni people by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Yemen Presidential Council President Rashad al-Alimi also announced today the termination of the joint defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Alimi, who requested the withdrawal of all UAE forces and personnel from Yemeni territory within 24 hours, instructed the Homeland Shield Forces, loyal to the legitimate government, to enter all military camps in Hadramout and Mahra provinces and take control.
