In the weather forecast report of the General Directorate of Meteorology for December 31, a yellow code warning was issued for 42 cities. It is expected that the air temperature will decrease by 4 to 10 degrees in the northern, inland, and western regions.
The cold air coming from the north in Turkey is manifesting as snowfall. Due to heavy precipitation, education has been suspended in many provinces, and there are also disruptions and cancellations in flights. The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow-coded snow and storm warning for 42 provinces. It is expected that the precipitation will generally be in the form of mixed rain and snow, with heavy rain in the coastal areas and the southern Aegean, as well as the coastal sections of the Mediterranean and the Central and Eastern Black Sea.
PROVINCES UNDER WARNING
The provinces for which the Meteorology has issued snow and storm warnings are as follows: Adana, Adıyaman, Ağrı, Antalya, Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Giresun, Hakkari, Hatay, Mersin, Kars, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Konya, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muş, Niğde, Rize, Siirt, Sivas, Tokat, Trabzon, Tunceli, Şanlıurfa, Van, Yozgat, Zonguldak, Karaman, Batman, Şırnak, Bartın, Ardahan, Kilis, Osmaniye, Düzce.
STRONG RAIN WARNING
It is predicted that the precipitation will be strong in the Eastern Mediterranean, Western Black Sea, southern and western parts of Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia, as well as in the surroundings of Istanbul, Bursa, Yalova, Kocaeli, Karaman, Kayseri, Niğde, Sivas, and Tokat, and in the coastal areas of Aydın and Muğla, eastern Antalya, western Mersin, and southern Konya. Frost and freezing events are expected in the northern, inland, and eastern regions.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP FURTHER
According to forecasts, the air temperature is expected to decrease by 4 to 10 degrees in the northern, inland, and western regions.
AVALANCHE DANGER EXISTS
The Meteorology has noted that there is an avalanche danger in the steep areas with a high snow cover in the highlands of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia.

STORM WILL ALSO STRIKE
Winds are expected to blow as a storm (40-70 km/h) in the Marmara, Inner Aegean, Inner Anatolia, and the coasts of the Eastern Black Sea, as well as in the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia. Therefore, it has been advised to be cautious against roof blow-offs, tree falls, and carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves and natural gas sources in these regions.
