A university student in Niğde stabbed her boyfriend in the heart, killing him during an argument. The young girl, who waited by her boyfriend's side after the stabbing, was arrested and sent to prison. Messages exchanged between the young girl and her friend after the incident have come to light.
A brutal incident occurred on February 2nd in an apartment in the Kale neighborhood on Eski Valikonağı Street in Niğde. According to allegations, Pelin Üçtepe (23) went to a student house where her boyfriend Hakan Günkan (25) was staying with four other people. A dispute that started for an unknown reason between the couple quickly escalated into a fight.
STABBED HER BOYFRIEND IN THE HEART
Üçtepe stabbed her boyfriend in the heart with a knife she took out of her pocket. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon the notification of friends in the adjacent room. After the first intervention at the scene, health teams transported Günkan to the hospital by ambulance. Despite all the efforts of the doctors here, Günkan lost his life.
ARRESTED
Pelin Üçtepe was detained by the police. The young girl was arrested by the court she was brought to, while Günkan's lifeless body was buried in his hometown Adana after the autopsy.
SAID "THINGS ARE BAD BETWEEN US" TO HIS SISTER BEFORE HE DIED
Mehmet (59) and Yıldız (53) Günkan, who live in Adana, stated that their son went to Niğde to study at university and that he was a successful, calm young man with a dream of becoming a teacher. Doğan Günkan (31), who expressed that he had messaged his brother two hours before the incident, said, "I asked how things were between him and the girl. He said, 'Brother, things are bad between us.' It was around 8:30 PM. Two hours later, I sent a message, but there was no response. At 4 AM, I received a call saying that the police reported my brother was arguing with his girlfriend and was seriously injured. We immediately set off for Niğde. When we arrived at the hospital, we learned that my brother had passed away. When we went to the police station, they told us that his girlfriend did this."
"WAITING BY HIS SIDE AFTER STABBING HAKAN"
Doğan Günkan stated, "From what we learned later, Hakan was going home with his girlfriend. There were friends at the house too. In the room, after the girl stabbed Hakan, she waited by his side. Then she called a friend and told her that she had stabbed Hakan. She also has messages with the girl. Then she went to her friends in the other room and told them she had stabbed him. We are filing a complaint against everyone who was in that house."
"I DID NOT APPROVE OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS GIRL"
His sister Fatma Dolaş also stated that Pelin Üçtepe had come to their house once to meet before and that she witnessed her behaving aggressively towards Hakan at that time, saying, "I did not approve of my brother's relationship with this girl. When she came here, she punched my brother on the shoulder several times. I wanted him to break up with her, saying this girl does not seem like a good person. My brother has been buried. He was like an angel. I want that girl to receive the heaviest punishment."
SENT A MESSAGE TO HER FRIEND AFTER THE MURDER
On the other hand, it was revealed that immediately after the murder, around 12:00 AM, Pelin Üçtepe called a female friend and said she had stabbed her boyfriend, and then sent messages stating that such a thing did not happen. The messages exchanged between the murder suspect and her friend were as follows:
Pelin Üçtepe: Dude, nothing is wrong, we had an argument with Hakan, we solved it, we are talking.
Friend: You said you stabbed him.
Pelin Üçtepe: No such thing, we are fine.
Friend: Call my phone or pick up. I want to hear your voice. Are you sure? Where is Hakan?
Pelin Üçtepe: I’m sure, dude. Hakan is with me, he went to the room. Batulas called.
Friend: Why did you call, you are crying? I won't feel comfortable now. You said you stabbed him, you said hospital. Pelin, I will lose my mind here. Are you okay?
Pelin Üçtepe: Nothing is wrong, I’m fine, dude.
Friend: I can’t be sure.
Pelin Üçtepe: Be sure, dude.
