In the ongoing investigation into the sexual abuse and violence against baby Sıla in the Malkara district of Tekirdağ, it has been revealed that the mother, Bakiye Y, was released from prison approximately 2 and a half months ago on charges of "using or selling drugs". Tekirdağ Bar Association President Egemen Gürcün made a press statement regarding the investigation into the abuse and sexual assault of baby Sıla in Malkara. Gürcün stated that they organized the meeting to convey important issues that they deemed necessary while respecting the confidentiality decision in the investigation file. Gürcün said, "On the 8th of the month, the latest incident of not waking up is reported to the hospital, and upon the detection of serious findings indicating that the child has been sexually abused and the presence of scars on the body, the situation is immediately reported to the investigating authorities. However, it should be noted that before these findings were made, the decision-making authority made a decision to protect the child. Hopefully, our baby Sıla will recover. In my conversation with the chief physician, I learned that our child's condition is currently bad and stable. Our baby is facing trauma as the effects of brain hemorrhage occurred in multiple places. Our prayers are with our baby," he said. MOTHER HID THE EVIDENCEGürcün stated that as Tekirdağ Bar Association, they will fight for the most severe punishment for all suspects and emphasized that besides the mother of baby Sıla hiding the crime, there was also negligence. He said, "On September 2nd, the mother Bakiye Y brings her child Sıla Y to the hospital, claiming that she fell, and files a complaint. However, 3 days after filing the complaint, she delivers her child back to the house where the accused person lives. In this sense, we are talking about a mother who, instead of determining what happened to her child and filing a criminal complaint for the incidents that happened to her child and for the necessary investigation to be conducted, hides the evidence she obtained about her child and does not take her child to the hospital until the 8th of the month," he said. Gürcün said, "We know that there were other children in the house at the time of the sexual abuse and that there was a very old grandmother. We learn that the two perpetrators committed this heinous act by closing the door and carrying out these acts on the baby. The prosecution has seized all digital data, and these are being examined. We have learned that further investigations will be conducted regarding any other crimes or suspicions," he said. "THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER OF THE CHILD LIVES IN ANOTHER CITY AND REFUSES TO ACCEPT THE CHILD"In his further statement, Gürcün said, "The mother Bakiye Y was released from prison approximately 2-2.5 months ago. She was arrested and imprisoned on charges of 'using or selling drugs'. During her imprisonment, her children were taken care of by their aunts. However, as soon as she was released, she took her children back. and stayed at the house of one of the suspects. And during this time, she left her child at the neighbor's house. This is how the incident occurred. Both adult suspects are not the biological father or stepfather of the child who was sexually abused. Here, Bakiye Y's marital status is married. However, she has not been in contact with the person she has been married to for 4-5 years. The biological father of the child lives in another city and refuses to accept the child. In fact, we are talking about an incident that happened knowingly. Bakiye's sisters reached out to us and told us that they had warned Bakiye multiple times. They are very saddened by this incident and told us that all suspects should be severely punished," he said.
