Off the coast of Sevastopol in western Crimea, following the attack on a Turkish-flagged boat named "Duru 67", the body of the deceased fisherman and the injured were taken aboard the "TCSG-96" vessel belonging to the Coast Guard Command.

After approximately a 15-hour journey, the rescued injured fishermen received initial medical intervention from health teams on the ship.

The body of the deceased fisherman and the injured were brought to Inebolu Port. The injured, taken into waiting ambulances at the Coast Guard Station Command, were transferred to Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital. The body of the deceased fisherman was taken to the Inebolu State Hospital morgue.

Kastamonu Provincial Health Director Fevzi Yavuzyılmaz, in a statement to journalists, indicated that following the incident, they formed a team under the coordination of the Governorate. Stating that the injured were transferred to the Coast Guard Command ship, Yavuzyılmaz said the following:

"We had four injured individuals. These were injuries mostly caused by shrapnel fragments. Together with an emergency medicine specialist, four doctor colleagues, other health personnel, and our UMKE colleagues, we performed their initial interventions. One patient had a chest tube inserted through a minor surgical operation on the ship. The others' dressings and stabilizations were ensured. We brought our patients to Inebolu Coast Guard Port on the return journey. We transferred our patients via waiting ambulances here."

"18 HEALTH PERSONNEL TOOK PART IN THE OPERATION"

Referring to the condition of the injured, Yavuzyılmaz said, "Two of our patients have relatively lighter injuries, while two have slightly more severe ones. Their initial interventions were done. We have now ensured their transfer to the hospital. A total of 18 health personnel took part in the operation. Again, with the entire team of the Coast Guard, our AFAD Directorate teams were waiting here at the port in a coordinated manner. Hopefully, our injured will reach a state where they can be discharged with recovery. Best wishes to all of you."
