While the price of diesel saw a reduction of 2 lira and 44 kuruş at midnight, with the discount reflected at the pump, diesel is being sold for 57 lira and 3 kuruş in Istanbul and 58 lira and 6 kuruş in Ankara.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.
EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES
After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with the public until the legal process is concluded.
