Should I have said that these friends can be associated with bribery; isn't there a problem here?"
The statements made by former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in a video he released recently made headlines. Highlighting the operations against CHP municipalities, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The CHP cannot be associated with bribery, corruption, and the contractors of the bribery ring; it cannot be combined with these. It cannot move forward with accusations and allegations of corruption against it. It must cleanse itself immediately and continue on its path."
KILIÇDAROĞLU RESPONDED TO CRITICISMS
There were harsh criticisms from within the CHP regarding Kılıçdaroğlu's statements. The former CHP leader responded to those criticisms. Speaking to Fatih Atik from TGRT News, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that a lynch campaign was being conducted against him, and he could not make sense of it.

Kılıçdaroğlu said: "I cannot make sense of the lynch campaign I faced after the video I shot. It is not just me; the institutional identity of the CHP cannot be associated with corruption. This makes me very uncomfortable."

What could be more natural than saying that the CHP should not be associated with corruption? What should I have said? The allegations and indictments are clear. What do they expect me to say? Should I have said there is no problem with these friends being associated with bribery?
During my chairmanship, whenever I received an allegation related to corruption, I took the necessary action regarding all of them. The mayors of Eskişehir, İzmir, Bilecik, Menemen, Ataşehir, and Beşiktaş. I assigned a commission regarding these names. I did not want these friends to be under suspicion; I wanted them to go to court and be acquitted. These friends went to court one by one while I was the chairman and returned after being acquitted."
