THE MOST DANGEROUS NEIGHBORHOOD IN TURKEY HAS BEEN REVEALED
Based on news from social media and the press, an artificial intelligence study has listed the most dangerous cities and neighborhoods in Turkey. At the top of the list, which includes some neighborhoods in Istanbul and Ankara, is the 19 Mayıs Neighborhood in the Yüreğir district of Adana.
DIFFERENT OPINIONS FROM RESIDENTS
Residents of the neighborhood, where fights and armed conflicts occasionally occur and narcotic operations are carried out, have differing opinions about the research results. While some say the neighborhood is safe, others express doubts about the accuracy of the research.
"OUR NEIGHBORHOOD IS VERY DANGEROUS, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME"
23-year-old Şükrücan Şengül stated that he cannot live anywhere else but the neighborhood where he grew up, saying, "Our neighborhood is very dangerous, anything can happen at any time. Tarlabaşı, Çinçin, or a newly emerging neighborhood in Bursa; no one can catch up with us. It's calm right now, but if you enter the side street, you can see a lot. There are incidents every minute, police vehicles are never lacking. They portray our neighborhood badly, but we love it," he said.
"IT'S NOT THAT BAD OF A NEIGHBORHOOD"
23-year-old Tarık Keser stated that the research is accurate, saying, "When you mention Yüreğir 19 Mayıs Neighborhood, it makes you pause. It's not as it appears from the outside; you understand what it is when you enter. People coming from outside are very surprised. Life has always been beautiful here. It is still very nice now. It's like the 'Champions League,' but they exaggerate; it's not that bad of a neighborhood. People are just minding their own business. Here, we call each other not friends, but brothers," he expressed.
"OUR DOOR IS OPEN TO EVERYONE"
Perişan Yeter described their neighborhood as beautiful, saying, "They are badmouthing our neighborhood, but it is very beautiful here. Everyone helps each other. They have unjustly tarnished the name of the neighborhood. Sure, I was born and raised here, and I am as miserable as my name suggests, but our door is open to everyone. You can come and drink our tea, eat my food. This place has never been bad, and it isn't now either," she said.
"LET THEM SEE THE HOSPITALITY HERE"
15-year-old Şükrü Şengül, who has been a tradesman in the neighborhood for 19 years, expressed that the people are wonderful and that the neighborhood has been treated unfairly, saying, "They say bad things about our neighborhood, but these are all hearsay. I have lived here for years and have been a tradesman. There used to be conflicts, but there is nothing like that now. Those who have this perception should come and see the hospitality here. If you don't interfere with anyone, no one will bother you. If you don't say 'Shh' to anyone's chicken, no one will say 'Shh' to you," he said.
