The scammers first sent a message to their victim, Cemil K., via SMS. Then, they used Serdar Ortaç and Mehmet Ali Erbil as examples, saying, "You will burn like black pepper," and demanded 82,000 TL from him. Cemil K. managed to escape from the scammers at the last moment, while he warned other citizens, saying, "The first thing to do should be to check through UYAP and e-Government."

The latest trick of scammers left everyone speechless. Cemil K., a public servant in Antalya, managed to escape from the hands of scammers who asked him for 82,000 TL by citing Serdar Ortaç and Mehmet Ali Erbil, saying, "You will burn like black pepper," thanks to his attention.

ESCAPED THE SCAMMERS' TRAP AT THE LAST MOMENT

Cemil K., who works in a public institution in Antalya, narrowly escaped falling into the trap of scammers. He stated that the scammers tried to lure him into their trap with a court decision that was prepared with such skill that it could rival reality. Cemil K. noted that the incident started with an SMS he received on his mobile phone. He said he was shocked by the message and immediately called the number provided. "A message came to my mobile phone. The message stated that I had a mediation file. I immediately called the relevant place based on that message. It was written in the message that it was a law office, and when I called, a voicemail answered and directed me to someone through keypad navigation. It was a very professionally prepared scheme; at first, I took the situation very seriously," he said.

A PROFESSIONALLY PREPARED SYSTEM

Cemil K. stated that the file against him was indistinguishable from reality, saying, "There is a law office, a switchboard system, and there are people who speak very disciplined and use legal terms. The relevant person stated that I had a file because I had placed bets on a betting site in previous years and that a judicial decision had been made regarding this. I asked what kind of bet I had placed. They tried to claim that I had played, and I asked, 'Can you send me the judicial decision regarding this?' They said, 'We will send it to you,' and immediately sent the documents via WhatsApp. I looked at the document that came, and indeed, a decision had been made against me, and a document had been created. At first glance, when you look at the upper parts, it really looked like an institutional document," he expressed.

A COURT DECISION PREPARED IDENTICALLY TO THE REAL ONE

When Cemil K. carefully examined the document prepared in a way that could not be distinguished from the real one, he noted that he had doubts about some points. "When I looked down, the names of the clerk and the judge, their numbers, and similar things along with the seal seemed very suspicious to me. They had created a file and issued a decision, a decision text. It states how much penalty I received, such as a fine of this much, a prison sentence of this much, and similar things. They had created this with very legal terms; I told them that I would investigate this. They were quickly asking me to deposit the money. I immediately asked where the case was opened, and they said, 'Kartal Courthouse.' I hung up the phone and called Kartal Courthouse. I reached the Enforcement Office of Kartal Courthouse. They said they had no information. When I couldn't get a result from Kartal Courthouse, I checked through UYAP and e-Government," he said.

“THEY SAID, 'YOU WILL BURN LIKE BLACK PEPPER'”

Cemil K. stated that he saw there was no file related to virtual betting apart from the existing files. After learning that he did not have such a file, he called the police. "They told me, 'Do not deposit any money.' They were asking for 82,000 TL. On the one hand, they were giving examples of the recent incidents involving Mehmet Ali Erbil and Serdar Ortaç. They said to me, 'You will burn like black pepper; they experienced these incidents.' But they are very professional. I believe we need to be very careful in such matters. I reported the issue to the police units. They told me that this was a scam and that I should definitely not get involved in such an incident. I had no intention of depositing money anyway. But later, they called again and insisted that I deposit the money. Since I reported the issue to the judicial authorities, I managed the conversation on the phone and closed the matter," he said.

“THEY SHOULD CHECK THROUGH UYAP AND E-GOVERNMENT”

Cemil K. warned citizens against recent scams that have been trending. "The Republic of Turkey has a very good system. The e-Government system provides an opportunity for our citizens to access all their information, from possible traffic fines to property information. UYAP also provides significant convenience in this regard. A lawsuit can be filed against you, and you may experience a process. You should not be afraid; there is no one in this country who has not encountered the judiciary. I had no fear, but I was just anxious about why such a file was opened, why I was not informed. I experienced anxiety about why we would pay such a sum of money and where it came from. Otherwise, you go to the courthouse. The courthouse is one of the institutions of this country; there was a fear of 'Why am I paying such a high amount of money?' Our citizens should definitely check all transactions through UYAP and e-Government. The first thing they should do when they receive such a call is to verify through these systems," he said.
