An event like a movie took place in the Avcılar district of Istanbul. According to reports, at around 5:00 PM on Gaffar Okan Street in the Tahtakale neighborhood, unidentified individuals who introduced themselves as police arrived at the workplace of scrap dealer Recep Ünal in a car. The suspects, stating that they were after thieves, chatted with Recep Ünal and his son Sinan Ünal (35) for a while, saying they would check the security cameras. THEY KIDNAPPED THE SCRAP DEALER AND DEMANDED 12 MILLION LIRAThe suspects then forcibly put Sinan Ünal into a vehicle and took him away. The father, helpless in the face of his son's kidnapping, experienced a second shock when he received a phone call minutes later. The suspects who called Ünal said they had kidnapped his son and demanded a ransom of 12 million lira. Upon this, Ünal went to the police station to report the situation to the police teams. "THEY SAID, 'WE HAVE MEN WAITING AT YOUR DOOR, WE WILL RAID YOUR SON'S HOUSE'"Describing the events, father Recep Ünal said, "They came and said, 'We are police officers, we chased a thief, can we check the cameras?' We told them the cameras were not working. They stalled for a few minutes. When we went inside, my son was standing next to them; they had thrown my son into the car. I had a friend with me who said, 'How can they be police, how did they close the door?' I said let them go, and they left. Five minutes later, they called me. They said, 'We are taking your son. Prepare 12 million, we will call you at 8:00 PM.' My friend saw that there were 3 of them in the car, and it was a white car. They also told me, 'Don't go to the police station, we have men waiting at your door, we will raid your son's house. We are a gang, we can harm the children. If you go to the police, we will kill you. We will call you at 8:00 PM,' and they never called again," he said. "THEY ROB A MAN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT"Ünal stated, "They must have seen that we went to the police station, that's why they didn't call. There had been no previous threats or similar situations. I request from our esteemed President and state officials that these individuals be caught as soon as possible. They are robbing a man in the middle of the city, in broad daylight. These individuals called me on Sunday at 9:30 PM and said, 'There is 300 tons of scrap.' I told them I can't pay that much, look for someone else. They hung up the phone and then called again, saying, 'How can you not take that much scrap?' I told them I don't have that much money. Later, the same number called my nephew. Then I tried to call them back but couldn't reach them. The police teams also called, but they couldn't reach them either," he expressed. Sinan Ünal's mother stated that her grandchildren were crying at home for their father and expressed her wish for her son Sinan Ünal to be found as soon as possible. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
