The updated adulterated food disclosure list by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was chilling. In addition to the 'Kocaağa Çiftliği' and 'Salih Kocaağa Çiftliği' branded sausages produced in Kırklareli, horse and donkey meat (equine) was detected in the tantuni, minced meat sauté, and lahmacun fillings of restaurants in Mersin and Manisa.
The latest adulterated and fraudulent food list published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has once again sent chills down the spine. Horse and donkey meat (solipeds) was detected in the sausages of Saffet Et Ürünleri. The scandal was not limited only to sausages; in Mersin and Manisa, soliped meat was also found in tantuni, minced meat kavurma, and lahmacun filling.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has updated its fraudulent food disclosure list, prepared to ensure food safety, to inform the public about those who play with citizens' health, and to expose companies engaged in imitation and adulteration. In the latest announcement, the scandalous counterfeiting practices in various meat and meat products frequently preferred by consumers were once again brought to light.
SOLIPED MEAT IN SAUSAGES
The company that drew the most attention and sparked great reaction on the list was Saffet Et Ürünleri Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi, operating in Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli. "Soliped Meat" (horse, donkey) was detected in the heat-treated sausage, stick sausage, and ring sausage products marketed under the company's "Kocaağa Çiftliği" and "Salih Kocaağa Çiftliği" brands. The detection of horse and donkey meat in numerous sausage products with different batch and serial numbers once again revealed the vital importance of food inspections.
SIMILAR SCANDALS IN MERSIN AND MANISA
In the list announced by the ministry, it was seen that the food scandal was not limited only to sausages. The following grave violations were also identified during inspections at facilities in Manisa and Mersin:
- MERSIN (AKDENIZ): Soliped meat was detected in the minced meat kavurma of Saray Yemekçilik (Feridun İnce) and in the cooked red meat tantuni of Gözde Tantuni (Rahime Şengül).
- MANISA (CENTER): Soliped meat was found in the raw lahmacun filling of the Hüseyin Usta Menekşe (Tuncay Zor) facility.
- MERSIN (TOROSLAR): An active pharmaceutical ingredient threatening health was detected in the product named "Honey Palace Epimedyumlu Macun" produced by Bioclass Bitkisel Ürünler (Mehmet Emin Kaya).
