In an operation conducted across 6 provinces centered in Samsun, 6 suspects who allegedly posed as Mayor Halit Doğan and collected money from citizens under the pretext of a charity campaign were taken into custody. It was determined that the suspects obtained a total of 310,000 Turkish Liras in illicit gains in 4 separate incidents, and they were reported to have been referred to the courthouse after processing at the police station.

THEY INTRODUCED THEMSELVES AS THE MAYOR
Teams from the Samsun Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch initiated an investigation into suspects who called citizens, introduced themselves as Samsun Metropolitan Mayor Halit Doğan, and claimed to be organizing a charity campaign to demand money.
Within the scope of the investigation, a simultaneous operation was carried out on June 10 in Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, Istanbul, Bartın, and Diyarbakır, centered in Samsun.
6 SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
During the operations, 6 suspects were taken into custody, while it was learned that one suspect was already in prison for another fraud case. Searches conducted at the suspects' addresses yielded a rifle, numerous mobile phones, and various digital materials.
THEY OBTAINED 310 THOUSAND LIRAS IN ILLICIT GAINS
Investigations by police teams revealed that the suspects collected money from citizens by claiming they would distribute aid packages to needy families. It was determined that they obtained a total of 310 thousand liras in illicit gains from 4 separate incidents using this method.
THEY WERE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE
After completing procedures at the police station, the 6 suspects were referred to the courthouse under extensive security measures. It was reported that the investigation into the incident continues.
